When ChatGPT launched in November 2022, this year's graduating class had just started university. This spring they graduated — the first cohort to complete an entire bachelor's degree in the age of generative AI.

Four years is a blink in university terms. Institutions used to change measured in decades suddenly faced a technology that touched everything at once: how students learn, how faculty teach, and how learning is assessed. These were new questions with no ready answers, and universities largely scrambled.

Almost four years later, where are we? Have universities found their footing, or are they still improvising? A harder question looms: in a world where AI disrupts every industry and no curriculum can keep pace with real-world knowledge, how do universities prepare students for a future no one can yet describe?
