Professor Kohei Itoh is President of Keio University, where he has served as a faculty member since 1995 and became a full professor in 2007. A leading researcher in quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum physics, he has published more than 330 journal papers and leads major quantum information initiatives in Japan. He serves as Program Director of Quantum Information Technology in the MEXT Quantum Leap Flagship Program and chairs the Japanese government’s expert panel on Quantum Technology Innovation. Previously, he served as Dean of Keio’s Faculty and Graduate School of Science and Technology and chaired the Keio AI and Advanced Programming Consortium. He is also a Council Member of the Science Council of Japan and has served on executive boards of major scientific societies. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a recipient of the Japan IBM Prize and JSPS Prize.
