How Can ASEAN Universities Thrive in the Next Decade?

Dialogue Events

DAU 5

May 12, 2022

The future of the ASEAN region is young, optimistic, and complicated. One-third of ASEAN's 655 million population is youth. It is geographically and economically important to both the East and the West. It benefits from multilateralism but is increasingly challenged by growing protectionism. It is one of the fastest-growing regions, but it also suffers from unequal development.

Higher education institutions in the region play an essential role in ensuring the young generation is not only competitive in today's global job market and ready for tomorrow's innovations and disruptions. There is a vast and urgent need for more skilled laborers for upgrading industries and world-class researchers to address global challenges such as climate change.
In this dialogue three top university leaders from the ASEAN region shared their views on the challenges and opportunities facing this region. Tune in to see their insights.
